1. System Requirements:

In order to install and run Claris Home Page 3.0,
your computer will need to meet these minimum
system requirements:
- Mac OS compatible with 68020 processor or better
- System 7.1 or better
- 8 MB RAM Available
- 5 MB minimum disk space (10 MB during installation

2. Installation Instructions:

The file named "Claris Home Page Installer" is a
self-extracting, single file installer.  Double-Click on
this file, and follow the on-screen instructions to
complete installation.

3. New Features!

Claris Home Page 3.0 is a cross-platform
(Macintosh and Windows) product designed to create
powerful Internet Web pages and sites easily. In our
latest version, significant effort has been put into
supporting the needs of both novice and expert HTML
page creators!  The New features include:

** "Assistants" that automatically generate
     pages, frames, or complete Web sites based
     on your style choices, topic, and
     personalized information!

** Strong and accurate HTML processing which
     can hide or display your custom tags and
     scripting without altering your work.
     (Our testing shows that we are superior to all
     of the competition in HTML processing and
     custom tag support).

** Powerful support for creating FileMaker Pro 4.0
     Database Web pages. You can easily connect
     to your FileMaker Pro 4.0 database, and create
     custom pages for displaying, searching,
     editing, or updating database records over
     the Internet or intranets.

** Enhanced site management! New site
     documents show the entire contents of your
     site, and allow changing global features
     such as page background across multiple
     pages. Easily verify and fix broken links
     and references, then automatically
     consolidate all referenced files and
     upload your site to an Internet service
     provider.

** Searching enhancements! Search and replace
     text across an entire site from the site
     editor. Search in Edit HTML Source mode,
     for example, to globally change references
     to an image or auxiliary file.

** Table enhancements! Define and change
     background colors or images in
     individual cells or an entire table.
     Select multiple cells and apply settings
     to all of them at once. Span table cells
     easily with improved visual feedback.

** Previewing in Multiple Browsers by choosing
     one or all from the new toolbar!

** Dozens of ready-made Page and site templates
     for quickly creating professional looking
     documents and sites.

4. Technical Notes and Tips

A.  QuickTime movies for Web pages

QuickTime Movies need to be flattened to play
in web browsers. Use the movie player that came with
QuickTime to flatten your files. If you don't see the
term "flatten," choose "Save as cross platform,"

B.  FTP - Working With remote files

Under some conditions, you may need to change
the FTP mode that Clarus Home Page uses to
communicate with your service provider. If you
experience Upload/Download failures of any kind,
change the FTP Mode in the FTP Settings dialog box
(choose either PASV or Active).

C.  Resizing Movie Files

Movie files such as QuickTime VR panorama or
AVI may insert very small under some conditions,
and must be be resized manually.

D.  Inserting AVI files

Insert .AVI files through the Insert Plugin
menu item.  AVI files will not show in the
Insert QuickTime movie dialog.
